Rules for Admission to First of Full time Diploma Courses in Engineering and Technology

First Year Diploma Course and Direct Second Year (Lateral entry) of Diploma Courses shall be as per the approval given by the authority which is competent for giving approval to respective Courses, Online Applications from Candidates for participating in Centralised Admission Process (CAP) invited by DTE and for Institute Level Quota students Application form is invited by the institute. Our Institute DTE Code is 4233 (Lokmanya Tilak Jankalyan Shikshan Sanstha's,Priyadarshini Polytechnic, Nagpur).

For seeking admission and number of seats available is as given below :

Direct Second Year of Post SSC Diploma Courses :- The distribution of seats available shall be notified on the DTE website before submission of option Form of Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
(a) Lateral Entry Seats : 20% of Sanctioned Intake, which will be over and above the Sanctioned Intake.
(b) Seats remaining vacant within Sanctioned Intake.

• Note 1: It is mandatory to all the candidates to register in Centralised Admission Process (CAP)
• Note 2: Institute Level seats will be filled by inviting applications from eligible candidates in the Institute.
• Note 3: Vacant Seats against CAP round 4 will be filled by inviting applications from eligible candidates in the Institutes.

Admission under Linguistic Minority Status for Hindi Speaking Community

The institute has been granted Linguistic Minority Status for Hindi Speaking Community by the Govt. of Maharashtra Letter ***

1. The sanctioned intake 51% seats will be filled from amongst the eligible candidates from Hindi speaking Minority Community.
2. As per DTE Letter no. **** Original Domicile Certificate of the candidate of Maharashtra State Must be BY BIRTH / PERMANENT RESIDENTS and it will be not accepted by institute if its BY CHOICE / FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE / INTEND TO STAY.
3. Indian Nationality Certificate (Birth Certificate) must be compulsory.
4. The candidates have to submit an affidavit for minority status on a Rs. 100/- non-judicial stamp paper. (Refer our sample Performa-O)

Eligibility Criteria

For Maharashtra State (for CAP/ Institute Level )

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st year Diploma Courses

• The Candidate must have passed secondary school certificate (SSC/CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE) Examination with at least 35% marks in aggregate for all categories belonging , with following subjects :

  • General Science (subject code 72for Maharashtra State Board))
  • Mathematics (subject code 71for Maharashtra State Board))
  • English
• For Maharashtra State candidates:- Candidates passing Std. VIII, IX and SSC from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
• Candidates passing Std. VIII, IX other than Maharashtra State and SSC from recognized institution in Maharashtra State possessing Domicile Certificate of Maharashtra State are eligible.
• For all Indian candidates :-The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible .

For Candidates from Other Than Maharashtra State ( OMS Candidate)

• The candidates from Other than Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates can take admission only at ILQ level
• OMS candidates will also complete the CAP formalities.
• OMS candidates are not eligible to avail Maharashtra Government Scholarships
• OMS candidates taking admission at ILQ level can avail Scholarships given by their respective states and they will complete the necessary process to avail that Scholarship on their own.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st year Diploma Courses

Types of Maharashtra State candidates and Home District

A candidate is considered eligible for admission to the seats of Maharashtra State coming under the purview of competent authority subject to fulfillment of any one of the eligibility requirements as listed in the following table.

Educational Qualification for Direct Second Year

Candidate should be Indian National domiciled in Maharashtra and must have passed HSC Science or HSC (Bifocal/Technical) or HSC (Vocational/MCVC) Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or SSC with 2 years duration ITI/ITI COE with 3 modules with appropriate specialization or its equivalent.

Note: Candidates with HSC Vocational (MCVC) OR 10+2 ITI/ITI COE should have passed SSC (10th Std.) or equivalent examination with subjects English, Mathematics (Code 71) and Science (Code 72)

Eligibility of the student for the specific branches of diploma programmes shall be as per MSBTE guidelines.

Group and Subgroup of Courses for Direct Second Year Diploma Admissions:

The groups and subgroups of Qualifying group and Corresponding Diploma Courses for which Admissions to Direct Second Year shall be given are as below. Admissions will be effected to qualifying group holders of a subgroup for Diploma Courses mentioned in the same subgroup. Thereafter "vacant seats", if any, will be offered to Candidates from other subgroups (Qualifying group if any), under the same group, who are Eligible for Corresponding Diploma Courses from the group.
